ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON APRIL 24, 1944 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AND ATTENDED A 4 WEEK VISUAL TRAINING AIDS COURSE AT THE HUGH MANLEY SCHOOL IN CHICAGO. ASSIGNED IN TURN TO NAVAL TRAINING SCHOOL, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, AND A NAVAL TRAINING SCHOOL IN CHICAGO. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SPECIALIST X (VISUAL TRAINING AIDS) ON JANUARY 12, 1946 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS.
