PRIVATE FIRST CLASS, 407TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, COMPANY A, 102ND OZARK DIVISION. KILLED IN ACTION IN GERMANY ON NOVEMBER 30, 1944 NEAR LINNICH, RUHR RIVER. SILVER STAR: HE DESTROYED A MACHINE GUN THAT HELD UP HIS SQUAD. CARRIED AMMUNITION UNDER ARTILLERY FIRE. MORTALLY WOUNDED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO AID A COMRADE. PURPLE HEART. BURIED IN THE NETHERLANDS.
