PRIVATE, WAS A PARATROOPER IN C BATTERY, 376TH PARACHUTE FIELD ARTILLERY BATTALION, 82ND AIRBORNE DIVISION. C BATTERY PARTICIPATED IN OPERATION HUSKY II (11 JULY 1943). HE WAS ONBOARD OF C-47 41-38624 THAT WAS SHOT DOWN BY FRIENDLY FIRE. THE PLANE CRASHED INTO THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA, OFFSHORE THE COAST OF SCOGLITTI. HIS BODY WAS FOUND FLOATING IN THE GELA BAY. AFTER THE WAR HE WAS BURIED IN THE ROSEDALE MEMORIAL PARK AT GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN.
