In European War was a Machine Gunner in the 36th Division of the 5th Army. In the Anzio, Italy Beach Landing and the March through Rome to Florence, Italy. He was then with the 36th Division when the 7th Army invaded Southern France. Wounded in battle at Lyons, France.
