ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON JUNE 11, 1943 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE AIR CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF CLERK TYPIST (405). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON JANUARY 11, 1944 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 149TH ARMY AIRWAYS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AND PARTICIPATED IN THE NORTHERN SOLOMON'S CAMPAIGN. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A CORPORAL ON DECEMBER 8, 1945. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
