SELECTED FOR THE INFANTRY, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF LIGHT ARTILLERY CANNONEER. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED STATESIDE WITH ANTI-TANK COMPANY, 300TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, AT FORT JACKSON, SOUTH CAROLINA. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE ON JANUARY 17, 1945 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE AMERICA CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
