ENLISTED FOR 4 YEARS IN MARINE AVIATION ON MAY 4, 1942 AT KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AND TRAINED IN THE MILITARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS OF AIRCRAFT ARMORER/AERIAL MINES WORKER. SERVED OVERSEAS IN THE PACIFIC AREA FROM MAY 13, 1944 THROUGH AUGUST 22, 1945, PARTICIPATING IN THE CONSOLIDATION OF THE NORTHERN SOLOMONS FROM MAY 14, 1944 THROUGH MARCH 15, 1945. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A STAFF SERGEANT ON MAY 3, 1946 AT MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, CHERRY POINT, NORTH CAROLINA. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
