COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING STATION, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, AND ADVANCED TRAINING AT AMPHIBIOUS TRAINING BASE, CAMP BRADFORD, NORFOLK, VIRGINIA. SERVED ABOARD, IN TURN, THE LANDING SHIP TANKS USS LST 378 AND USS LST 934. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A RADARMAN THIRD CLASS ON JUNE 10, 1946 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS.
