SERVED IN CAPE GLOUCESTER INVASION AND BATTLE OF PELELIU. KILLED IN ACTION ON SEPTEMBER 17, 1944. ENLISTED IN THE MARINES ON DECEMBER 7, 1942. HE TOOK HIS TRAINING AT SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA. SENT OVERSEAS IN JUNE 1943 AND JOINED THE 1ST MARINE DIVISION. INVOLVED IN THE INVASION OF CAPE GLOUCESTER ON DECEMBER 26, 1943. AFTER CAMPAIGN AT CAPE GLOUCESTER, HE SPENT RECUPERATING TIME ON ISLAND OF PAVUVU UNTIL SEPTEMBER OF 1944 AND THE LANDING AT PELELIU. HE WAS PART OF BATTERY A, 1ST SPECIAL WEAPONS BATTALION, 1ST MARINE DIVISION.
