SELECTED FOR SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE DETACHED ENLISTED MEN’S LIST, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF UTILITY REPAIRMAN (121). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON FEBRUARY 19, 1942 BOUND FOR ICELAND. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 6816TH STAGING DETACHMENT. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A TECHNICIAN FORTH CLASS ON JULY 1, 1945 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, MARYLAND. EARNED THE AMERICAN DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
