AMERICAN CITIZEN WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE BRITISH COMMONWEALTH AIR TRAINING PLAN, HELD THE RANK OF FLYING OFFICER AND SERVED AS A BOMB AIMER IN THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE. ENLISTED ON APRIL 11, 1942 AT MONTREAL, QUEBEC. EARNED HIS AIR BOMBER'S WING BADGE AT NO. 7 AIR OBSERVER SCHOOL, PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MANITOBA AND RECEIVED HIS COMMISSION AS A PILOT OFFICER ON APRIL 2, 1943. RECEIVED FURTHER TRAINING WITH NO. 10 (OBSERVER) ADVANCED FLYING UNIT, ROYAL AIR FORCE AT ROYAL AIR FORCE STATION, DUMFRIES, SCOTLAND IN JUNE AND JULY 1943. KILLED IN ACTION WITH HIS ENTIRE CREW AT THE AGE OF 23 WHILE ATTACHED TO NO. 106 SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE (BOMBER COMMAND) WHEN HIS FLAK DAMAGED ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH LANCASTER MK II (LL891) BURST INTO FLAMES AND CRASHED NEAR LOREUX, FRANCE DURING A BOMBING RAID TO SALBRIS ON MAY 8, 1944. BURIED IN A COLLECTIVE GRAVE AT ORLEANS MAIN CEMETERY, ORLEANS, LOIRET, FRANCE.
