SERVED AS A B-24J ‘LIBERATOR’ BOMBER NAVIGATOR, WHO WAS KILLED SEPTEMBER 14, 1944 DURING A HIGH ALTITUDE FORMATION TRAINING MISSION. EIGHT OTHER CREWMEN ALSO DIED WHEN THE BOMBER SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND CRASHED NEAR PETERSON ARMY AIR FIELD, COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO.
