HE WAS IN THE U.S. MARINES FROM 1941 TO 1946. HE REACHED THE RANK OF CORPORAL AS A MACHINE GUNNER IN GUAM. HE WAS AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART MEDAL FOR BEING WOUNDED BY THE ENEMY ON JULY 2, 1944. CONDITIONS THERE WERE BAD BUT HE SERVED HIS COUNTRY PROUDLY.
