His Unit flew over 325 Missions and over 8000 sorties over Northern France, Germany and most European countries held by Germany. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for Exemplary Service and dedication to duty, while maintaining B-17 Aircraft for flight to perform Bombing Raids against Nazi Germany. He served from 9 October 1942 through 3 November 1945. He was Honorably Discharged on # November 1945 at the 510th Fighter Squadron Separation Center, Fort Bliss, Texas
