HE WAS A LIEUTENANT IN MILITARY INTELLIGENCE, STARTING OUT TRAINING IN CAMP LEE VIRGINIA, AND THEN GOING TO INDIANOLA, NEBRASKA TO WORK AS A TRANSLATOR AT A GERMAN PRISONER OF WAR CAMP. EVENTUALLY HE WAS PROMOTED TO WORK WITH GERMAN OFFICERS AT FORT WASHINGTON OVERLOOK (POST BOX 1142) AND WOULD LATER SERVE AS A TRANSLATOR AT THE NUREMBERG TRIALS.
