Eberle (AP-123), which departed on March 6, 1945 from San Francisco, California to New Guinea with troops and mail on board. Arrived Finschhafen, New Guinea, March 20 then to Humboldt Bay and Hollandia, New Guinea March 22-24, Manus Island, Admiralty Group March 25-26; Tacloban, Leyte Island, Philippine Islands April 1-3, Manila, Luzon Island, Philippine Islands April 6-10; Leyte Island, Philippine Island April 12-15, Ulithi Island, Caroline Islands April 17-18, Honolulu, Oahu Island, Hawaiian Islands April 27 and San Pedro, California, May 2 where approximately 3000 former internees from Japanese prison camps and other military passengers were debarked. Entitled to European-African-Middle Eastern campaign ribbon. Also entitled to the Philippine Liberation medal. Discharged; Seattle, Washington, October 23, 1945.
