Rank: Private. He was inducted into the United States Army April 2, 1943 at Salt Lake City, Utah. Following his Basic Military training and infantry training, he was deployed to the European Theater of Operations. He served as a Rifleman, assigned to the 377th Infantry Regiment and an element of the Ninety-Fifth Infantry ‘Iron Men’ Division, attached to the U.S. Third Army. His division participated in the capture and occupation of the Forts surrounding Metz, France. On Tuesday, November 21, 1944 he was killed-in-action, during offensive operations against the German Armed Forces. Personnel from a Grave Registration Company buried him in the Limey Battlefield Cemetery, located at Toul, France. In the post-war era, this Soldiers’ family requested that he be buried with Military Honors at the Lorraine American Cemetery Location: Saint Avold (Moselle), France. In his Memory and Honor, this American Patriot received the Purple Heart posthumously, for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
