ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON FEBRUARY 7, 1945 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF MILITARY POLICEMAN (MOS 677). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON AUGUST 11, 1945 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 801ST MILITARY POLICE BATTALION ENGAGED IN POST-WAR PHILIPPINE ISLANDS OPERATIONS. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON DECEMBER 5, 1956 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, CAMP BEALE, CALIFORNIA. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, AND THE PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE MEDAL.
