ASSIGNED DUTY AS AN INFANTRYMAN TO THE 356TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 90TH INFANTRY DIVISION. WHILE ON PATROL HE WAS SHOT AND KILLED BY AN ENEMY SNIPER. AT THE TIME, HE WAS IN FRANCE AND WAS KILLED ON NOVEMBER 18, 1944.
