ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON JANUARY 23, 1945 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR DUTY WITH THE SIGNAL CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF SUPPLY CLERK (MOS 835). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON JULY 11, 1945 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 3164TH SIGNAL SERVICE GROUP. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A TECHNICIAN FOURTH GRADE ON AUGUST 26, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE MERITORIOUS UNIT AWARD, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
