DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON OCTOBER 9, 1943 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 1,000-BED 79TH GENERAL HOSPITAL AT WARINGFIELD, UNITED KINGDOM. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A TECHNICIAN FIFTH GRADE ON MARCH 12, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, CAMP GRANT, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
