ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON APRIL 9, 1943 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE AIR CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, ATTENDED THE 20 WEEK RADIO OPERATOR AND 6 WEEK RADIO MECHANIC SCHOOLS, AND EVENTUALLY QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST (MOS 502). SERVED STATESIDE, ASSIGNED TO THE 731ST ARMY AIR FORCES BASE UNIT. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SERGEANT ON FEBRUARY 18, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, CAMP BEALE, CALIFORNIA. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
