Activity During WWII

Member of the 63rd Bomb Squadron, 43rd Bomb Group and was a radio/radar operator on a B-24. While serving in New Guinea in 1943, they were sent out from Dobodura on a mission to New Britain to locate and attack Japanese merchant ships. On their way home, late in the evening, they radioed the base to turn on the landing lights. A half hour later they called in and asked why the lights were not on. That was the last they heard from them. Declared missing 12/4/43 and later declared dead.
