ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON AUGUST 3, 1944 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE ARMY AIR FORCES, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF MUNITIONS WORKER (MOS 901). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON NOVEMBER 9, 1945 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH DETACHMENT 1, HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS SQUADRON SP ASAC. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A CORPORAL ON AUGUST 26, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
