SELECTED FOR THE QUARTERMASTER CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF SHIPPING CHECKER/SUPPLY CLERK (MOS 835). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON NOVEMBER 2, 1942 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 559TH QUARTERMASTER RIGHT HAND DRIVE COMPANY IN THE TUNISIAN, SICILIAN, NORMANDY, AND NORTHERN FRANCE CAMPAIGNS. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON OCTOBER 26, 1945 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 4 BRONZE BATTLE STARS, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
