COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING STATION, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, AND FURTHER TRAINING AT THE AMPHIBIOUS TRAINING BASE, LITTLE CREEK, VIRGINIA. SERVED ABOARD THE SOMERS CLASS DESTROYER USS WARRINGTON DD-383, AND LANDING SHIP, TANK (LST) VESSELS LST-291 AND LST-289. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A COXSWAIN ON JULY 3, 1946 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 2 BRONZE BATTLE STARS, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
