SELECTED FOR THE QUARTERMASTER CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF LAUNDRY MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (MOS 104). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON AUGUST 25, 1945 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 189TH QUARTERMASTER LAUNDRY DETACHMENT. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON JANUARY 24, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, CAMP ATTERBURY, INDIANA. EARNED THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
