ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON AUGUST 3, 1945 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE ARMY AIR FORCES, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF GUARD PATROLMAN (MOS 522). ASSIGNED TO THE 243RD ARMY AIR FORCES BASE UNIT, GREAT BEND ARMY AIRFIELD, KANSAS. HONORABLY DISCHARGED, BY REASON OF DEPENDENCY, AS A PRIVATE ON 21 APRIL, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL FOR SERVICE DURING THE PERIOD OF ELIGIBILITY.
