RANK: AVIATION MACHINIST’S MATE 2ND CLASS. HE ENTERED THE U.S. NAVY 1942 AND COMPLETED HIS BASIC MILITARY TRAINING AT THE U.S. NAVAL TRAINING STATION, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA. AVIATION TRAINING AT THE U.S. NAVAL AIR STATION, NORMAN, OKLAHOMA. SERVED ABOARD SHIP IN THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. AWARDED THE NAVY GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 3 BRONZE BATTLE STARS AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED IN 1946.
