ENLISTED IN MILITARY SERVICE ON FEBRUARY 11, 1943. SERVED OVERSEAS IN THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER, IN THE CHINA-BURMA-INDIA (CBI) THEATER OF OPERATIONS, WITH THE 2ND AIR COMMANDO GROUP. ASSIGNED TO THE 38TH, 316TH, AND 317TH TROOP CARRIER SQUADRONS, BASED OUT OF MYITKYINA, BURMA. JOINED THE GROUP IN SEPTEMBER, 1944 AND WORKED AS A GLIDER MECHANIC, ORDNANCEMAN, AND INSTRUMENT SPECIALIST DURING HIS TOUR OF DUTY. AWARDED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AND ISSUED THE HONORABLE SERVICE LAPEL BUTTON.
