Activity During WWII

Drafted March 11, 1941. Trained at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Bragg, North Carolina and did desert training in Arizona. He was a Gunner on the 155 MM Howitzer cannon. August 4, 1944 entered into battle from England into France. Member of the 949th Field Artillery Battalion. Discharged November 11, 1945. He was in the Army longer than any other drafted person he knew.
