Activity During WWII

Drafted in 1942, Fort MacArthur. Entered Officer Candidate School (OCS) in 1943 at Camp Davis, North Carolina; 2nd Lieutenant. 1st Lieutenant with the 118th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion at Camp Haan, California. Sailed on Queen Mary to England in December of 1943. Landed at Omaha Beach on June 7. Wounded by a V-2 rocket explosion in Antwerp, Belgium. Received the Purple Heart, American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Service Stars, WWII Victory Medal.
