The 'Blazers' stopped the German 6th Mountain Division and then took the Saarland and opened the path into Germany. The Division lost 58.2 percent of its Official Ranks. Only two other Divisions in the European theater of Operations had such high losses. This patriot survived and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He died on April 9, 1991.
