RANK: PRIVATE 1ST CLASS. SERVED IN THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS ASSIGNED TO THE U.S. ARMY, 310TH INFANTRY REGIMENT COMBAT TEAM, 78TH INFANTRY ‘LIGHTING’ DIVISION, U.S. 1ST ARMY. KILLED IN ACTION TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 1945 DURING THE ASSAULT ON SCHMIDT, GERMANY. HE IS BURIED IN THE NETHERLANDS AMERICAN CEMETERY LOCATED AT MARGRATEN, NETHERLANDS. DECORATIONS AND MEDALS: BRONZE STAR AND THE PURPLE HEART. THE BRONZE STAR WAS BESTOWED UPON THE SOLDIER FOR BRAVERY, ACT OF MERIT AND MERITORIOUS SERVICE.
