FIRST LIEUTENANT, CO-PILOT, B-24 LIBERATOR, 320TH SQUADRON (MOBY DICK), 90TH BOMB GROUP 'JOLLY ROGERS', 5TH AIR FORCE, SERVING IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. DIED JUNE 14, 1944. HE REPLACED A MEMBER OF JOSEPH METTS CREW WHO WAS UNAVAILABLE TO FLY THE MISSION. HIS PLANE (THE RUPTURED DUCK) WAS LOST ON A NIGHT RAID ON YAP ISLAND AND WAS LAST REPORTED OFF THE COAST OF NEW GUINEA. AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART, AIR MEDAL WITH 2 OAK LEAF CLUSTERS.
