Activity During WWII

He quit college to join the 104th Infantry, 26th Division. Served in Ardennes at the Battle of the Bulge, and at 19 years old, was one of 2 in his Platoon to survive. He was Hit by shrapnel in his left knee, and spent 5 days alone in a Fox hole in Sub freezing temps before being rescued. He then spent 9 months in a Hospital in England. He also wrote for the Stars and Stripes Newspaper.
