Activity During WWII

SERVED UNDER BOTH GENERAL PATTON AND GENERAL MACARTHUR IN WWII. COMMISSIONED IN 1941, HE ACTIVATED THE SECOND MOBILE REFRIGERATION COMPANY AND HAD THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF PERISHABLE FOODS TO UNITS IN THE DESERT TRAINING CENTER IN CALIFORNIA UNDER GENERAL PATTON. HE PARTICIPATED IN FOUR INVASIONS IN THE PACIFIC THEATRES OF OPERATION BETWEEN 1941-1946, INVOLVING TROOP MOVEMENTS TO SIDNEY, AUSTRALIA, ACROSS THE OWEN-STANLEY MOUNTAIN RANGE TO NEW GUINEA, THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS AND JAPAN. HE HAD SUPPLY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PACIFIC TROOPS IN THE PHILIPPINE AREA, AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RECOVERY OF THE DEAD. HE WAS DECORATED FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE IN DIRECT SUPPORT OF COMBAT OPERATIONS AGAINST THE ENEMY AT LEYTE, AND PARTICIPATED IN PLANS FOR THE INVASION OF JAPAN. HE WAS AWARDED THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER MEDAL, AMERICAN DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, DISTINGUISHED SERVICE MEDAL, BRONZE STAR, AMERICAN THEATRE RIBBON, JAPANESE OCCUPATIONAL RIBBON, AND WAS DECORATED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS.
