SERVED AS AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHER WITH THE 345TH BOMB GROUP, 498TH BOMB SQUADRON. HE WAS ON A BOMBING/STRAFING MISSION, AIRCRAFT #41-30040, OVER DAGUA AIRDROME, NEW GUINEA, WHEN THE PLANE CRASHED. HE AND THE CREW WERE LOST. HE WAS AWARDED THE AIR MEDAL, PURPLE HEART AND WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
