HE TRAINED AT CAMP WHEELER, GEORGIA AND CAMP RUCKER, ALABAMA. HE SERVED IN COMPANY F OF THE 262ND REGIMENT OF THE 66TH INFANTRY DIVISION. EN ROUTE TO REINFORCE TROOPS AT THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE, HIS UNIT'S TRANSPORT SHIP, THE SS LEOPOLDVILLE, WAS SUNK BY A GERMAN U-BOAT TORPEDO. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON DECEMBER 25, 1944 IN THE ENGLISH CHANNEL.
