TECHNICAL SERGEANT, B-24 LIBERATOR 'BIG EMMA', 321ST SQUADRON (BOMBS AWAY), 90TH BOMB GROUP 'JOLLY ROGERS', 5TH AIR FORCE, SERVING IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. MEMBER OF JOHN MOLLER CREW. FINISHING A PATROL MISSION OF THE NORTH COAST OF NEW GUINEA, HIS PLANE ENCOUNTERED BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS AND AFTER SENDING A MESSAGE TO PORT MORESBY TO 'TURN ON SEARCHLIGHTS', THE PLANE WAS NOT HEARD FROM AGAIN. IT CRASHED WEST OF PORT MORESBY, AUGUST 8, 1943. MISSING AIR CREW REPORT 15575. AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART.
