HE WAS CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY ON NOVEMBER 2ND 1942. HE SERVED HIS COUNTRY UNTIL OCTOBER 11TH 1945, AND WAS DISCHARGED FROM BREMERTON, WASHINGTON. DURING HIS SERVICE HE EARNED THE RANK OF PHARMACIST’S MATE SECOND CLASS AND WAS DEPLOYED TO THE FOLLOWING CAMPAIGNS: THE AMERICAN AREA, EUROPE-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN AREA, ASIATIC-PACIFIC AREA, AND THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION. DECORATIONS RECEIVED FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE WERE: AMERICAN AREA MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN AREA MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC AREA MEDAL, AND THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL. VESSELS AND STATIONS SERVED WERE: USS CALVERT- NAVAL TRAINING STATION, NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND, AMPHIBIOUS TRAINING BASE, CAMP BRADFORD, NORFOLK, VIRGINIA, PUGET SOUND NAVY YARD, BREMERTON WASHINGTON AND FARRAGUT, IDAHO.
