Activity During WWII

Entered Service in June of 1942. Served at Camp Wolters in Texas. Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Benning in Georgia. Also at Camp Wheeler in Georgia, Camp Blanding in Florida and Camp Van Dorn in Mississippi. Sent to England and joined the 29th Infantry Division, 115th Regiment, Company I, 3rd Battalion Headquarters at Bodmin, England. Landed D-day on Omaha Beach. Wounded twice in the hedgerows of Normandy. Sent to the 61st General Hospital in England for 3 months. Returned to the 29th Division in Germany on October 28, 1944. Remained with the division until the end of the war. Served in occupation duties until April 1946 when he returned to the States.
