ARMY SPECIALIZED TRAINING PROGRAM AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY;1943-1944. SERVED IN 104TH DIVISION 'THE TIMBERWOLVES'; 414TH INFANTRY, COMPANY F. TRAINED AT CAMP CARSON, COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO AND ARRIVED AT CHERBOURG, FRANCE, SEPTEMBER 1944. BATTLE OF THE HUERTGEN FOREST, BATTLE OF THE DYKES, SIEGFRIED LINE CAMPAIGN, AND LIBERATION OF MITTELBAU-DORA CONCENTRATION CAMP. TWO BRONZE STARS, PURPLE HEART, AND COMBAT INFANTRYMAN BADGE. AFTER VICTORY IN EUROPE, ARRIVED HOME JULY 1945 AND REPORTED TO SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA FOR TRAINING FOR FURTHER COMBAT IN JAPAN. REMAINED AT SAN LUIS OBISPO AFTER JAPAN SURRENDERED, UNTIL LATE 1945.
