Activity During WWII

HE ENLISTED IN THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS ON DECEMBER 1, 1944 IN CLEVELAND OHIO AT THE AGE OF 18. HE ACHIEVED THE RANK OF PRIVATE FIRST CLASS AND WAS QUALIFIED AS A RIFLE MARKSMAN. FROM APRIL 14, 1945 TO SEPTEMBER 13, 1946, HE SERVED IN THE PACIFIC THEATRE OF OPERATIONS WITH THE 5TH AMPHIBIOUS CORPS DETACHED 4TH MARINES WHERE HE WAS ISSUED AN HONORABLE SERVICE LAPEL BUTTON AND A GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL. HE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM THE CASUAL COMPANY MB, QUANTICO, VIRGINIA ON NOVEMBER 8, 1946.
