Joined service on December 8, 1941. Transferred to the 10th Mountain Division, Camp Hale, Colorado, 1944. Went to Officer Candidate School (OCS) and joined the 83rd Division, 331st Infantry, Company K during the Battle of the Bulge. Recipient of a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, a Unit Citation and two Purple Hearts. Occupation in Bavaria after war's end. Served until November 1946.
