INDUCTED MARCH 29, 1941: 581 DAYS OF COMBAT WITH THE 751ST TANK BATTALION. ENGAGED IN PRINCIPAL BATTLES IN NORTH AFRICA AND ITALY. CAMPAIGNS INCLUDED TUNISIA, PO VALLEY, NAPLES-FOGGIA, ROME-ARNO, AND NORTH APENNINES. PRINCIPAL NORTH AFRICA BATTLES INCLUDED FONDOUK AND BIZERTE. PRINCIPAL BATTLES IN ITALY INCLUDED SALERNO, NETTUNO, CISTERNA, ROME, PISA, MOUNT BELVEDERE, PO VALLEY, ALTA VILLA, VOLTURNO AND MIGNANO. AWARDED THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN RIBBON WITH 5 BRONZE STARS AND 1 BRONZE ARROWHEAD, AMERICAN DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, AND GOOD CONDUCT RIBBON. HONORABLY DISCHARGED JULY 3, 1945.
