Activity During WWII

Bazooka Man with the 1st Infantry Division from May 1944 through March 1945. His Unit participated in the Battle of the Bulge during December 1944. He single handedly stopped 2 German Panzer Tanks on a bridge outside Bastogne blocking their advance. He was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for Heroism. He was severely wounded by a German Grenade on 25 March 1945 in Aachen, Germany. He was evacuated on 28 March 1945 to the 4317th U.S. Army Hospital. He was returned to the U.S. on 21 June 1945 as a wounded soldier. He was Discharged Honorably on 23 November 1945 from the General Hospital in Los Angeles, California
