ENLISTED IN MILITARY SERVICE SOON AFTER THE UNITED STATES ENTERED THE WAR. SERVED AS AN ARTILLERY FORWARD OBSERVER OVERSEAS IN THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN THEATER WITH THE 71ST INFANTRY 'RED CIRCLE' DIVISION. PARTICIPATED IN THE RHINELAND, AND CENTRAL EUROPE CAMPAIGNS. ALSO SERVED WITH OCCUPATION FORCES IN AUSTRIA AFTER THE END OF HOSTILITIES. AWARDED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 2 BRONZE SERVICE STARS, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AND ISSUED THE HONORABLE SERVICE LAPEL BUTTON.
