Served our country in WWII from 1944 to 1946, and was part of the 4th Infantry Division. He landed in Glasgow, Scotland, went on by train to Liverpool, England, then on a troop ship to Le Havre, France. After fighting their way through France in one the coldest European winters in history, and being hit and wounded by shrapnel, he eventually made it to Nuremberg, Germany when the war ended. His medals of Honor include the following: Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Honorable Service Lapel Button-WWII and the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross.
