Rank: Private. He was a United States Marine, who served in the Pacific Theater with the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment, 5th Marine 'The Spearhead/Fighting Fifth' Division. He participated in the amphibious assault on the Volcanic Island of Iwo Jima (Invasions Dates: February 19-March 26, 1945), Code Name: Operation Detachment. On Saturday, February 24, 1945 he was killed in action and buried in the U.S. Fifth Marine Division temporary battlefield cemetery on Iwo. After the cessation of hostilities with Japan, his remains were returned to his country and family, with interment in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, California. He was an American Patriot, who so gallantly gave his life for his country.
